HELLO

Verity Smith

Founder of Orenna

Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor

"I started Orenna as my passion is helping people to understand and overcome their mental health challenges. I enjoy working together with my clients to help them make positive change in their life and also to help them understand themselves better.

I have Masters degrees in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Clinical Psychological Research as well as an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a post graduate qualification in Clinical Supervision. My role is to use my knowledge to help clients live happier and more fulfilled lives.

I have worked within hospices, schools and private settings as a psychotherapist and therefore have extensive experience working with adults, young people and couples across a range of ages.

I think it's important to be authentic and therefore my relationships with my clients are open and honest. I provide a safe space for my clients to make positive change"

Psychotherapeutic Counsellor

"The foundation of my work is underpinned by establishing a high quality therapeutic relationship with my clients. This enables us to work together in a way that is safe and supportive to help you to identify and action the desired changes in your life.

As well as Private Practice, I have experience of working in a local hospice bereavement counselling service, the NHS Staff Counselling Service, as a volunteer and on contract, and a domestic violence service.

My background is in Human Resources Management and I maintain strong links with business to the present day. I have many years experience in business/career mediation and coaching from Board Director level to middle management. I have a special interest in working with women through the peri/menopause.

My therapeutic qualification is in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and I work as an Integrative therapist. This means that I employ a variety of therapeutic techniques to enable us to work through your therapy goals together.

Through my work and life experience,  I understand that we all get stuck from time to time and my aim is to support you while you work out a way forward by offering an empathetic, supportive space where the focus is on you"
